Divorce

So you or your spouse wants a divorce, for whatever reason: grown apart, a third person present, and so forth.

  1. First prize is to talk it through and try and see if circumstances allow for counselling and possible reconciliation. ( yes I know its not always possible but where it is please make the effort.)
  2. If you can keep it amicable you can keep costs low and in most countries can do your own divorce – if its simple.
  3. When dealing with divorce from an abusive spouse with narcisstic tendencies beware, proceed very, very carefully with extreme caution.

In the case of no. 3 above nothing will be what you think it is, you will be dealing with a bizarre scenario that will end up being worse than any fiction that was ever created. If there are children involved also be very, very careful because the simple mantra of keeping the kids out of it, does not work, the narcissist will be poisoning your children against you before you even realise it. In this case you have to be very very honest with your children with regard to the process and supplanting any lies about you told to your children with the truth. Ergo my title. With abusive spouses and especially those on the narcissistic spectrum we are dealing with consummate liars and deceivers and they want you to suffer – that is their sole purpose to the detriment of your happiness and that of any children in the marriage.

Give me your thoughts and tips for others with regard to Divorce.

Thank you.
